The Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU) brings museum-quality art directly to students through Art on the Move, a traveling gallery program that transforms schools into vibrant spaces for artistic exploration and learning. This unique initiative provides students and educators with access to original works of art without leaving their school community. The program features 11 curated collections, each containing six works of art that showcase a variety of artistic styles, mediums, and perspectives. By bringing art beyond the walls of traditional galleries, Art on the Move inspires curiosity, creativity, and meaningful engagement with the visual arts.
More than an art exhibit, Art on the Move serves as a powerful instructional resource. With a single collection of artwork, teachers throughout a school can offer students a fresh and engaging way to learn. Each collection is accompanied by ready-to-use, standards-aligned curriculum materials that connect the artwork to a wide range of subject areas, including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and the visual arts. These interdisciplinary lessons encourage students to think critically, make connections across content areas, and explore concepts through creative inquiry.
